Parkour Summit and directions

Our big National Parkour Summit is coming up this weekend and you are invited - yay!

To recap for everyone:

Friday we're running a laid back obstacle course competition at the gym with free admission (2pm-5pm general, 6pm-9pm for the invitational). You'll need to be confident in your parkour ability to compete as well as register ahead of time. Spectators are welcome but there's going to be limited space and we suggest donating a small amount if you're staying awhile to put towards a larger gym next year.

Saturday We run the first set of seminars from 8am-1pm at the gym focusing on basic parkour programming, conditioning, nutrition, and injuries. The cost is $20 or whatever you can put towards speaker traveling costs. After that we'll jam at Gasworks and meet back at the gym around 7pm for dinner and round table discussion. You can register for this as well and indicate if you are bringing food or would like to be included in the pool for getting food.

Sunday The second set of seminars will start promptly at 9am and run till 1pm covering intermediate programming, strength, and our work on parkour parks. The cost is $20 or whatever you can put towards speaker traveling costs. After that we'll head downtown to Freeway Park for training there or around the city.

For Travelers

Housing: No one is staying at the gym, connect on the facebook event or contact Rafe (rafe@parkourvisions.org) to sort you to a host.

Flying in: You can take the Link to downtown in order to bus to wherever you are staying, you can also take bus 28 towards the gym (it picks up in several places downtown and you want to get off at Leary and 6th ave NW. Let us know when you coming in to see if someone can pick you up or help you out!

Public Transit: The buses are pretty good, the 26 or just walking from the gym / down the Burke Gilman trail can get you to Gasworks. Google does a good job of route planning, and you can pick up One Bus Away on most phones to check times.
