This week at PKV: climbing/swinging, random surprise elements

Beautiful video shot in a temple in Cambodia featuring some of the best traceurs out there.

Level 1 class this week will work on climbing and swinging. Release your inner gibbon and play on the myriad bars all over the gym!

Levels 2 and 3 will be at the mercy of the creativity of the coaches. From blackout ninja tag to add-on to chase the incredibly fast guy (we're going to try to truck Tom down from Canada. Here's a video of him in action at the Summit last year).

In case he doesn't show, we'll have other (not quite so incredibly) fast guys for you to chase!

This week at PKV: high commitment vaults, climbing speed and power

Here's a beautiful snow training video from the very productive Parkour Miramas scene:

Snow is no longer an excuse to not train!

Level 1 classes this week (barring a huge blizzard), will cover kongs, kashes, dashes, and speed vaults. You'll build the basic skills to hurl yourself over picnic tables, giant blocks of stone, and slightly smaller blocks of stone.

Levels 2 and 3 will work on climbing this week, focusing on speed and power, respectively. Next time you absolutely need to traverse the underside of a bridge at high speeds or make that 6 foot dyno to save the neighbor's cat, you'll be ready.

This week at PKV: vaults, running power, jumping flow

Watch Parkour Visions students Oliver and Andrew playing at Gasworks and the gym on a rainy day:

Level 1 classes this week will cover some of the best vaults for getting over walls, railings, and other stuff that gets in your way. We'll cover step, lazy, and reverse vaults and some of their variations.

Level 2 will work on running power. You will sprint like madness and work hurdle deadly lasers!

Level 3 students will learn to jump like water. Because the last time you saw water jump, you were amazed and jealous.

This week at PKV: Running, quadrupedal flow and technique

Everyone’s favorite pure parkour series featuring French Traceur La vietnamien Volant.

Very nice pure parkour feature starring original traceur Sebastien Foucan. Seb is 37 years old and still getting better. It's beautiful to see

Level 1 classes this week will cover proper running form and good body mechanics to keep you running, hurdling, and striding for years to come, even if saber-toothed antelopes invade your neighborhood.

Levels 2 and 3 will focus on quadrupedal flow and technique. You'll learn to move like water in the Rain City. Provided that water happens to be flowing through the gym after we've set up some obstacles. We'll also have a metaphor/simile bonus round!

This week at PKV: Lowline, running technique, live training

Here's an incredibly easy New Years resolution: play for 30 minutes per day. Why? Because it's ridiculously good for you and costs next to nothing. How? Let Ryan Ford of APEX Movement tell it:

How will you play this week? I suggest coming to the PKV gym and learning with us!

Level 1 classes will cover fundamental parkour movements designed to keep risk of injury low and to strengthen your body for the bigger stuff. We'll learn fundamental vaults, how to think about approaching obstacles, and how to minimize impact as you traverse obstacles.

Level 2 classes will work on running technique, specifically strides, hurdles, and awareness and foot placement precision.

Level 3 classes will be doing running-based live training: games and challenges based on foot speed and precision. Think flag tag on obstacles, races, and time trials.

Sign in online, and we'll see you in class!
